EFT Program
The City of Portland is pleased to offer its property tax owners the convenience of paying their real estate taxes in 12 monthly payments by EFT (electronic funds transfer) payment. You can authorize withdrawal of funds from your bank account on a monthly basis and the City will apply those amounts to your annual tax bill. This ensures that your taxes are automatically paid on the due dates, with the convenience of regular payments.
The initial withdrawal amount will be estimated based on your previous year’s tax bill. The first withdrawal for each tax year will begin in April. After the annual budget is approved, the withdrawal amount will be adjusted for any difference, to ensure the total annual amount is correct. You will receive a notice from the City with the adjusted amount.
