Notice for Casco Bay Parking Garage Customers
5/10/2012 -
Casco Bay Parking Garage, unlike other garages in Portland, is nearly full 24 hours a day. This makes it difficult to properly clean and maintain the facility.
Like last year, for spring clean-up, arrangements have been made for all Casco Bay Parking Garage customers to move to the nearby Custom House Parking Garage located at 25 Pearl Street at no cost during the cleanup weekend so that we can sweep, wash and stripe the facility.
This will require all Casco Bay Parking Garage customers to vacate the garage from 8PM Friday evening to 10pm Sunday evening during the weekend of the spring clean-up. We have tentatively scheduled this work for the weekend beginning Friday May 11th. This spring clean-up requires a forecast of no rain. If the weekend of May 11th is rained out the clean-up will be rescheduled for the following weekend(s) until the work can be completed. WE WILL NOT SCHEDULE THE WORK FOR THE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!
Notice of the weekend work will be posted at the Casco Bay Parking Garage, the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal and at each Casco Bay Lines facilities on the islands. In addition, it will be posted on the City of Portland website www.portlandmaine.gov and the notice will appear on the opening page on the left hand side of the page under “City News”.
While it will be necessary to plan a little extra time for Casco Bay Parking Garage customers to use the Custom House Parking Garage at 25 Pearl Street two blocks away (See the map below), the process will be easy. Customers will enter the Custom House Parking Garage, take a ticket, park and present a ticket signed by the customer to the attendant when you leave. All Casco Bay customers must vacate the Custom House garage by 9am, Monday 5/14/12. The garage hours for the weekend will be the same as the hours for the Casco Bay Parking Garage and the attendants who usually serve you will be there to assist you for the weekend.
If you are concerned about getting the notice of the dates of the spring clean-up weekend, you may leave a written note with your name, email address or phone number with a Casco Bay Parking Garage booth attendant, and we will notify you.
IMPORTANT: Please note that Casco Bay Parking Garage customers must make arrangements for their vehicles to be removed from the Casco Bay Parking Garage. Any vehicles left in the garage on the spring clean-up weekend will be towed at the customer’s expense.
In advance, thank you for your cooperation.
