Police Poetry Reading Tomorrow
As a part of the city’s Art at Work initiative, participating police officers will read poetry written for calendar

What: Tomorrow, the city’s Police Department, Portland Public Library and Art At Work will sponsor a poetry reading featuring work read by local poets and members of the Portland Police Department. Written by police officers, detectives, and local poets, the poetry tells the story of life and work within the Portland Police Department. The officers will be joined by their poet counterparts, Betsy Sholl, Michael Macklin, Nate Amadon, Megan Grumbling, Kathleen Sullivan, Nancy Henry, Dennis Gilbert, Kevin Sweeney, Jefferson Navicky and Bruce Spang. After the reading the public will have the chance to discuss the work with the authors and have questions answered.

Implemented in Portland in 2007, Art At Work is a public/private partnership between the City of Portland and the arts nonprofit Terra Moto. For more information about the project, visit online or call 874-8681.
