Portland establishes newsletter to keep residents and businesses informed of city news and events
PORTLAND, Maine – The City of Portland announces the establishment of Portland Cityline, a city email newsletter and the creation of a Portland Cityline Facebook page and Twitter account. Portland Cityline is an easy way for residents, businesses and visitors of Portland to receive periodic updates on city government activities. By simply signing up online, becoming a fan on Facebook, or a follower on Twitter, you can receive the latest information on events and news from the city. Participants can find out about traffic alerts, changes to trash and recycling pick-up schedules, public meetings, recreation activities, city-sponsored events and much more.
“Portland Cityline is a great way for the community to stay informed,” stated Mayor Jill Duson. “The email newsletter, Facebook page and Twitter account provide another information resource for the residents and businesses of Portland. Whether people are interested in finding out where to park for the 4th of July fireworks display or if the city has declared a citywide parking ban, these new tools will help the city connect with people and help them access this information.”
To sign up to receive periodic updates from Portland’s Cityline, visit the city’s website. The city’s Facebook page can be viewed by searching for Portland Cityline at facebook.com and people can follow city news at twitter.com, user name PortlandCitylin.
