Fitzpatrick Specs General Information

Fitzpatrick Stadium is a 6000 seat multi-purpose outdoor facility that was renamed in 1989 to honor James J. Fitzpatrick, one of the most respected figures in Maine athletic history. "Fitzy" as it is called plays host to a variety of sporting events, is the home field for the Portland High School Bulldogs, and is host to Maine Principals Association Championships in football, field hockey, and lacrosse.

With installation of a $1.4 million Field Turf playing surface and rubberized track, the stadium’s use has more than tripled and now includes a full schedule of high school, amateur, and semi-pro teams every day from April to November. As a part of the construction of a new Sea Dogs Clubhouse, a new rest room building is to built for the 2008-2009 season.

This historic stadium is part of the fabric of the community, hosting many traditional rivalries over the years. It has been enjoyed for generations and continues to play a major role in the Portland sports scene.
