Public Comment to the City of Portland’s Consolidated Plan

Written comments regarding the proposed Substantial Amendment to the FY 2008/09 Action Plan may be submitted to the Division of Housing and Neighborhood Services at 389 Congress Street Room 312, Portland ME 04101, or by email to avp@portlandmaine.gov until 4:00 p.m. on May 29, 2009. The City Council will hear comments and consider adoption of the Substantial Amendment at its regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. on June 1, 2009 at City Hall, 389 Congress Street. The public is encouraged to attend and participate. Please direct any questions to Amy Grommes Pulaski at (207) 874-8731.

Provisions For Non-English Speaking Residents

The City of Portland has a network of staff or residents who can act as interpreters for residents wishing to comment or seeking information regarding programs. If notified at least 3 business days in advance that a non-English speaking resident wishes to comment on or participate in the public hearing for CDBG-funded programs, the City will arrange to have an interpreter present. Provisions For Persons With Disabilities

If notified at least 2 business days in advance that person(s) with disabilities will need assistance to comment on or participate in a public hearing concerning CDBG-funded programs, the City will arrange to have an interpreter, reader, or aide available as needed. Accessible seating for persons with disabilities (including those using wheelchairs) is available.  Please contact Amy Grommes Pulaski at (207) 874-8731 or avp@portlandmaine.gov at least 5 business days before the City Council meeting to request any other reasonable accommodations that may be necessary.
