1. WORKSHOP- 3:30 PM

i. Congress Street Historic District; City of Portland, Applicant. (3:30-4:30 PM- estimated time, subject to change) A proposal by The City of Portland to create a new downtown historic district. The “Congress Street Historic District” would extend from City Hall to Bramhall Square and include portions of abutting blocks on the north and south sides of Congress Street. The purpose of establishing the historic district is to provide protection for the historic buildings within Portland’s downtown and ensure that alterations, additions and sign solutions are compatible with their historic character. With designation, building owners interested in rehabilitating their historic properties would also become eligible for federal and state tax credits. New construction within the district would be reviewed as well. If the proposed historic district is approved, alterations and new construction will be reviewed by the Historic Preservation Board (or staff, depending on the scope of the project) according to Portland’s historic preservation ordinance standards.
2. SITE WALK- 5:00 PM

ii. Ocean Avenue School; Vicinity of 152 Ocean Avenue; City of Portland, Applicant. MEET NEAR THE PARKING LOT (5:00 PM- estimated time, subject to change) A proposal by the School District and the City of Portland to construct an approximately 73,960 square foot elementary school building with attendant parking , walks, stormwater management infrastructure, and play areas on a +/-12 acre site at 152 Ocean Avenue. The playing area will consist of an all purpose field, a paved area for basketball and outdoor games, and four (4) play areas.
3. EVENING WORKSHOP, resumes at 7:00 PM Room 209, Second Floor, City Hall

i. Ocean Avenue School; Vicinity of 152 Ocean Avenue; City of Portland, Applicant. (7:00- 8:00 PM- estimated time, subject to change) A proposal by the School District and the City of Portland to construct an approximately 73,960 square foot elementary school building with attendant parking , walks, stormwater management infrastructure, and play areas on a +/-12 acre site at 152 Ocean Avenue. The playing area will consist of an all purpose field, a paved area for basketball and outdoor games, and four (4) play areas. The project will be reviewed for compliance with the City’s Site Plan Ordinance and as a Site Location of Development Project.

ii. Merrill Public Art- Text Amendment to Bulk and height Exceptions (8:00- 8:30 PM-estimated time, subject to change) The City of Portland is proposing a text amendment to allow public art to exceed zoning height restrictions except in residential zones.

iii. Cedars Rehabilitation Center; Vicinity of 630 Ocean Avenue; Cedars Healthcare, Applicant. (8:30- 9:00 PM- estimated time, subject to change) A proposal to renovate the existing rehabilitation center and expand the current floor area by approx. 1,500 sq. ft.

iv. Martin’s Point Medical Office Building; Vicinity of 331 Veranda Street; Martin’s Point Healthcare, Applicant. (9:00 PM- estimated time, subject to change) The applicant is seeking to reduce the overall square footage of the proposed building and possibly revise the parking on-site.
