The Portland Planning Board voted unanimously 6-0 (Odokara absent) to recommend the proposed IL to IM rezoning to the Portland City Council.

The Portland Planning Board voted unanimously 6-0 (Odokara absent) to table this item to October 23rd at 7:00 p.m.

The Portland Planning Board will hold a public hearing to consider a proposal by Diversified Properties Inc. to amend the approved 3-lot subdivision proposal, accessed from Barclay Avenue, to include an accessory unit in the single family home at 31 Barclay Avenue (lot 2 of the subdivision). The location of the accessory unit is within a previously approved garage and the modification relates solely to the creation of a fourth unit within the subdivision and updates on the conditions of approval.
8. NEW BUSINESS
iText Amendment; Vicinity of 716 Stevens Avenue; University of New England (UNE), Applicant. (7:30 – 8:30 p.m. – estimated time, subject to change)
The Portland Planning Board will hold a public hearing to consider a Text Amendment by the University of New England to Division 6, R-5 Residential zone, Section 14-118 of the City of Portland Code of Ordinances. The text amendment would allow a building height up to 55 feet for a college, university, trade school on a site with 10 acres or more and allow setbacks from external boundaries of 30 feet, 50 feet for parking garages and 50 feet for dormitories adjoining residential uses.

The Portland Planning Board will hold a public hearing to consider a plan for Florence House. The proposal is for a 31,272 sq. ft. residential building of 3 stories plus a partial daylight basement. Florence House will provide permanent, supported housing for chronically homeless women, to include 25 studio apts., 15 safe haven units and a maximum of 25 emergency shelter beds along with other accommodation and support facilities. The proposal includes parking, a drop off area and a terraced landscaped area, and will be accessed from Valley St. and St. John St.

NOTE: It is possible that the Board will not reach all of the items prior to adjournment. Any items not reached will be rescheduled to appear on the subsequent agenda with items appearing early on the agenda as unfinished business.
