0. WHAT:
The Portland City Council and Community Development Committee (CDC) invite the public to participate in a series of public meetings to continue to refine the zoning proposals for the Maine State Pier and waterside of the Eastern Waterfront. The CDC will host these meeting with participation from members of the Planning Board with the goal of expanding public participation in the State Pier redevelopment process, narrowing differences of opinion on zoning specifics, and creating zoning documents that achieve a higher level of public consensus prior to City Council action.

The CDC will host the following meetings to conduct this process:

WHEN: August 30, 2006, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Portland Ocean Terminal, 40 Commercial Street, Maine State Pier. (Free parking will be available to the public inside of the Portland Ocean Terminal Facility)

September 6, 2006, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., in Room 209, Second Floor, City Hall, 389 Congress Street.

The CDC will report their findings and any resulting zoning revisions to the full City Council at the regularly scheduled Council meeting on:

September 18, 2006, 7:00 p.m., City Council Chambers, Second Floor, City Hall, 389 Congress Street.
