AGENDA

1. WORKSHOP – 3:30 p.m.

i. Places of Assembly Conditional Use Review; 978 Washington Avenue; Zachary Heiden, Applicant. (3:30 – 4:15p.m. estimated time, subject to change) The Planning Board will consider the conditional use review for a place of assembly in the existing building at 978 Washington Avenue. The building was formerly a TV repair shop and it is being converted to a place of assembly, which is listed as an institutional use requiring conditional use review by the Planning Board.

ii. R-3 to B-2 Map Amendment; 901 Washington Avenue; JB Brown and Sons, Applicant. (4:15 to 5:00 p.m. estimated time, subject to change) The Planning Board will consider a zoning map amendment for 901 Washington Avenue to rezone the front portion of the property from the Residential R-3 zone to the Business B-2.

iii. I-lb to B-5 Map Amendment; 170 Anderson Street; Wayne Hamilton, Applicant. (5:00 to 5:45 p.m. estimated time, subject to change) The Planning Board will consider a map amendment from Industrial ILB to Business B-5 for 170 Anderson Street, a former electrical supply warehouse. The applicant is seeking to move Hamilton Marine to this location. A portion of the building would be rented by the Compass Project, a nonprofit organization that does boat building with youth.

Unfinished Business

i. Avesta Oak Street Efficiencies, 72 Oak Street; Avesta Oak Street, LP, Applicant. (7:00- 8:00 p.m. estimated time, subject to change). The Portland Planning Board will consider a proposal for a 4 story, 30,201 sq. ft. building at 72 Oak Street with 37 studio apartments on the upper 3 floors with common "storefront" space and parking on the ground floor.

New Business

ii. Waterfront Central Zone Text Amendments; 11 Private Pier Owners, Applicants. (8:00 – 9:00 p.m. estimated time, subject to change) The Planning Board will consider revised waterfront policies and proposed text amendments for the Waterfront Central Zone (WCZ).

iii. B-1 Map Amendment; Vicinity of 801 Washington Avenue; Cumberland Farms, Inc., Applicant. (8:00 p.m. – estimated time, subject to change). The Portland Planning Board will consider an amendment from R3 zone to B1 zone at 801 Washington Avenue. The amendment relates to small lot adjacent to the existing Cumberland Farms at this address to allow for expansion of the existing building.
