Before and/or After Camp at Camp Play-All-Day & Camp Xperience June 18 - August 17 – 7.5 – 15 hours per week. Mon. – Fri. 7:00 – 8:30 a.m. and/or 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Experience with children and youth programs – knowledge of a variety of games, sports, and leisure activities. Starting pay: $8.50/hr.
Camp Xtreme June 18 - August 17 – 35 hours per week. Mon. – Fri. 8:15 – 3:45 pm – Lyman Moore Day Camp. Experience with youth & teen programs – knowledge of a variety of sports, games and leisure activities. Starting pay: $8.50/hr.

Significant knowledge of track and field; coaching and teaching skills; knowledge of Hy-Tek meet manager software; knowledge of USA Track and Field rules and policies; experience driving 15 passenger activity bus is desirable. Previous experience working with children ages 7 – 14 years. Starting pay: $10 - $13/hr depending upon experience. Telecommunicator (911 Dispatcher)

This is a critical position in Portland's Emergency Communications Center. The Communications Center provides 24-hour emergency/non-emergency dispatch services for Police, Fire and Emergency Medical services. The normal duties of this position include but are not limited to: work 8 or 12 hour shifts, to cover 24-hours a day 7 days a week, including holidays and weekends; communicates with police and fire units by radio; answers both emergency (911) and non-emergency telephones; provide Emergency Medical instructions over the phone for emergency medical situations; input data into computer regarding stolen property, vehicles, and guns; enter missing and wanted persons in state, local and national computer systems; other related duties as required. This is a fast-paced team environment that requires the following qualifications: graduation from high school or any equivalent combination of experience and training; ability to work with advanced computer-aided dispatching technology; capacity to act quickly, calmly and correctly in emergency situations; must be able to use tact and diplomacy in stressful situations; availability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays; strong listening, memory and multi-tasking skills; accurate typing skills; solid customer service skills. Police background check and polygraph required. Must be able to obtain Maine Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification (EMD) and Maine Certified Terminal Operator Certification within 6 months of employment. $656.40/wk plus night shift differential when applicable. Must be certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and maintain State licensure. Experience in a community healthcare or ambulatory clinic setting desirable. Experience working with low-income and immigrant populations preferable. Bi-lingual ability a plus. On-Call Aquatic Programmer

Applications are being accepted for an on-call aerobics instructor to teach water aerobics at the City of Portland’s aquatic facilities. Applicants must be able to teach classes on Wednesday and/or Thursday evening(s) beginning the third week of July and ongoing throughout the summer. Experience teaching either land or water aerobics is required; aerobic or water aerobic certification desirable (i.e. AEA, USWFA, AFAA, etc.).
