Adult Immunizations

The Immunization Program at the India Street Public Health Center offers low-cost immunization, TB testing, and travel health services by appointment.

Services include:

The Immunization Program provides students, health care workers, older adults, and others with vaccination against measles, mumps, and rubella; varicella (chicken pox); tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis; hepatitis A; hepatitis B; human papillomavirus (HPV); meningococcal disease; pneumococcal disease; and influenza.

Fees are a $20 per office visit, plus the cost of vaccines, which range from $0 to $232.

Payment is required at the time of visit. All services can be paid for by cash, check, Visa, Master Card, or Discover. The clinic does not accept American Express.

We cannot bill Maine Care, Medicare or private insurance but we are able to provide you with documentation if you wish to submit a claim to your insurance company yourself.

For information about vaccines you may need, please see the CDC’s current vaccination recommendations for Adults, children and adolescents website.

The Immunization Program also offers tuberculosis (TB) skin testing for a two-visit office fee of $20 per visit, if affordable. Please see CDC’s Tuberculin Skin Test Fact Sheet for more information.

Travel Health Services

The Immunization Program is a CDC-certified yellow fever vaccine provider and offers comprehensive pre-travel health services including risk assessment, health education, immunization, and antimalarial prescriptions as needed.

In addition to the routine vaccines listed above, the program vaccinates clients against yellow fever, typhoid fever, polio, bacterial meningitis, and Japanese encephalitis.

Travel consult fees are usually $45 per person for a 30-minute office visit. In the case of an extended visit there may be an additional fee.

Please visit us at least 4 weeks prior to travel for maximum protection. For country-specific immunization and malaria recommendations, click here.

Staff clinicians are unable to provide travel consult services by telephone. Please call (207) 874-8446 for an appointment.
