Join local businesses in supporting the city’s 4th of July celebration by making a donation today.

In April, business leaders, The Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram, Quirk Chevrolet, Wright Express, and the Maine Red Claws answered the appeal from the city to help raise funds to support this important community event. Together, they have raised $45,000 for the celebration and are working to establish a foundation that can sustain this community gathering for years to come. Donations can be made today to support both the fireworks celebration and other exciting events planned for the 4th of July. Simply submit the Stars and Stripes Spectacular Donation form to the City Manager’s office or visit Paypal.

Portland’s 4th of July celebration is a valued tradition dating back more than a century. The celebration takes place along the Eastern Promenade with more than 50,000 people gathering in a variety of public spaces and in Casco Bay to watch the event. It is the largest city event held in Portland.
