Forest Avenue Night Works Begins September 16 - Includes Impacts to I-295 Exit Ramps

paving alert

Starting this Sunday, September 16 at 7pm, the City’s contractor, Sargent Corporation, will return to finish work within Forest Avenue remaining from the State Street Infrastructure project. This work includes pipe repairs, pavement milling, surface paving and roadway striping. This work will be completed at night to reduce day time impacts to traffic.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR MOTORISTS: Forest Avenue will be restricted to one open lane in each travel direction between 7pm and 7am Sunday night through Friday morning for two weeks starting on September 16, and concluding on September 28.

On Thursday, September 20, (weather permitting) the contractor will shut down I-295 North and South Bound Exit 6A between 9pm and 6am for pavement milling operations.  Motorists can use I-295 exit 5 or 7 as an alternate route between these hours.

On Sunday, September 23, (weather permitting) the contractor will shut down I-295 North and South Bound Exit 6A between 9pm and 6am for surface pavement installation operations.  Motorists can use I-295 exit 5 or 7 as an alternate route between these hours.

The contractor will be working within this zone between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

Motorists are urged, if possible, to seek alternate routes into and around this area and to be aware of nightly traffic control pattern adjustments to complete the work.
