Children’s Oral Health

The Children’s Oral Health Program (COHP) provides comprehensive oral health care for children, works to foster awareness of the importance of good oral health and to ensure that all children have access to quality oral health care.

COHP offers comprehensive oral health care for all children ages 0-18, including:

  • School-Based Oral Health Services- Preventive care at all of the City’s schools including cleanings, sealants, and fluoride
  • Exams, x-rays, and treatment provided for any child by a dentist through the Amanda Rowe Clinic
  • Citywide Clinic located at Riverton School for children from any part of the city
  • Bright Smiles, a clinic staffed by volunteer dental providers for uninsured children whose families cannot afford dental treatment

COHP Award Winners

Kathy Martin and Vaneesa Woodward were honored on February 24, 2015 by the Maine Dental Association. They received the "Spotlight on Dentistry Award" in recognition and appreciation of work accomplished to advance oral health care in Maine.
