Join us on Saturday, October 29th for the scariest tour of your life as the Portland Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Department shares with you the “real” history of Portland and how it was established. Our guided tours will take place inside the historic Portland City Hall where it all began. Tours begin at 6:00pm, tickets are reserved for specific tour times between 6pm - 10pm.
Tours will last roughly 20-25 minutes. Space is limited so reserve your tickets today. Ticket prices are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Please note, this event is not intended for small children.
Welcome to Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department. This department consists of four major divisions: Public Assembly Facilities, Parks, Recreation and Building Maintenance.
Public Assembly Facilities is responsible for the scheduling and management of Merrill Auditorium, Hadlock Stadium, Portland Exposition Building, Ocean Gateway and the Maine State Pier.
Recreation manages the Portland Ice Arena, Riverside Golf Course and special events at various city parks and administers a variety of youth, adult and senior recreation and aquatic programs.
Building Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance, repair and renovation of a variety of City and School buildings.
